This was a great intro! I only used the digital audio and didn’t feel like I missed much. This was probably the first time I really felt excited to keep learning about history. They also wrapped it up really well, recapping the history to see how we got where we are today.

What a grand idea to coteach church history! I’ve attended several such courses, bit this was the funnest hands down. The Diamond and Silk format added insight and humour throughout the compressed 2,000-year span, and best of all, they gave linkages to explain the causes of different things.
Not totally accurate, though, as in the fundamentalist-Neo Evangelicalism schism … to attribute it to personal standards rather than ecumenism is anachronistic … that came later. Also, the watershed event in NYC involving Billy Graham was his crusade and not a WCC event as alleged. Small gaffes these, taking nothing from the inspiring impact of the course!
